Medicine and Dentistry Faculty of Pavel Jozef Safarik University in Kosice is located in kosice, 2nd biggest town of Slovakia.
It’s the second oldest medical University in Slovakia, with a tradition of more than 70 years.
Because of that tradition, high standard and good reputation has attracted the best students from worldwide.
So, from the year 2015 ranks among the best 550 medical universities worldwide and is the second best medical university in Slovakia.
Its main aim is to provide first class education levels for future healthcare professionals.
The university, has a capacity of 200-250 students per academic year, making it the biggest medical faculty in Slovakia.
Has a total amount of more than 2000 foreigners’ students.
Each year enroll to the university students from more than 40 countries mainly from UK, Norway, Poland, Greece, Spain, Germany, China, Italy, Israel and Arabic countries
Students have access to Erasmus program and also can participate in many national and international research activities.
Since the year 2000 UPJS medical faculty has applied the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).
ECTS is the credit system for higher education used in the European Higher Education Area, involving all EU countries, like UK, France, Germany, Italy, Austria, Holland, Czech, Hungary, Norway, Slovakia, etc.
Academic qualifications of graduates from the ECTS credit system have been accredited worldwide.
The diploma, obtained by the university, is recognized in all countries of the European Union and in most of the federal states of USA.
Currently the university offers two main undergraduate study programs:
- General Medicine with the degree MUDr./MD. (Medicinae Universae Doctor)
- Dentistry with the degree MDDr. (Medicinae Dentale Doctor).
Both programs are 6-year day – time doctoral studies
