General Medicine

The standard length course is six years (12 semesters). Each academic year starts in September and lasts till the end of August of the following year. The academic year is divided into two semesters, winter semester (from September till February) and summer semester (from February till August). Each academic year has 3 examination periods. Winter semester from middle December until middle February and summer semester from end of May until start of July and the last one from middle of August until end of August.
  • 1st to 2nd year’s courses provide theoretical knowledge
  • 3rd year starts the pre-clinical lectures and pre-clinical practice to the hospitals.
  • 4th to 6th year starts clinical experiences in the hospital.
After passing the 4 state examinations in Gynecology, Surgery, Internal Medicine and Pediatrics (6th year), the graduate obtains the degree MD./ MUDr. – Medicinae universae doctor.

First of all, you have to contact us.
We will help you with the whole process of the submission.
To be admitted you will have to succeed at the entrance exams test.
Entrance exams test consists of 100 multiple choice questions in Chemistry & 100 multiple choice questions in Biology*
(*Each question has 4 answers, with only one answer correct. There is no negative points. So from each question you can get minimum 2 points.)
Aim of each applicant is to obtain at least 600/800 points (maximum).
Applicants have 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete the test.
The necessary books for the entrance exams, are provided by our company, to all of ours candidates.
The application procedure starts on 15/1/2020 and ends one week before the additional entrance exams.
The entrance exams for the year 2020/2021 will be on xx/06/2020 & xx/08/2020 in the University facilities in Kosice.
Our company though is organising additional entrance exams abroad.

The results of each entrance exams are provided to agencies maximum one week after the entrance exams.
As soon as our agency gets the results, automatically informs the candidates.
To be admitted to the University, you have to get minimum 600 points in total.
By the time you get your results from our agency and you have at least 600 points, you can consider yourself student of Pavel Jozef Safarik University.
Applicants with score less than 555 points, they get to a waiting list, and the Dean of the University decides how many of them, will be accepted*.
* This depends of the number of the candidates who enroll every year and the actual "free" places.
Fees are paid directly to University's bank account.
You have though the possibility to pay the fees in two parts.
One before the enrollment, the other before the start of second semester (around middle of February).
The enrollments take place around the second week of September and the semester starts a week later.
The university accepts transfers students up to 5th year. From Eu or Non-Eu countries.
The year you will be admitted, depends of your transcript and syllabus from your current university.
Applicant who have interrupted, terminated or being expelled from his/her current university, WILL HAVE TO TAKE THE ENTRANCE EXAMS
Applicant who is student of the respective university, has passed/completed all the courses (no course has been failed) or has fulfilled all the conditions stated by current university to continue his/her studies in the next academic year, WILL NOT HAVE TO TAKE ENTRANCE EXAMS.
None institute in Slovakia offers scholarships for foreign students
By university law, the candidate who will pay the fees but will not complete his/hers enrollment to the university, can request his/hers money back.
In case though, that the candidate will complete the enrollment, there is no refund policy.

  • Health certificate (confirmation from a physician, that the applicant is physically and mentally suitable for medical studies).

  • Notary authorised copy of the apostilled school leaving certificate and its notary authorised Slovak translation by a sworn translator.
    (Students from Croatia, Hungary, Germany, Poland,Romania, France, Russia and Ukraine don't need apostille, is enough just notary copy)
  • Birth Certificate - with notary authorized translation into Slovak Language
  • Certificate about vaccination against hepatitis B & TBC
  • Health certificate (confirmation from a physician, that the applicant is physically and mentally suitable for a medical studies)
  • Photocopy of the Passport/ID
  • 1 passport-sized photograph (3.5 x 4.5)
  • Notary copy of the Validation/ Nostrification of General Certificate of Secondary school done by the ministry of education in Slovakia

Additional documents - only for transfer students

  • Filled in application for course recognition & course recognition formula
  • Original transcripts (study records with exact dates when courses were completed), officially translated in English or Slovak language
